Information Sharing

PDMPs share information with prescribers and dispensers in other states in order to provide better and more complete information of a patient’s controlled substances prescription history. Interstate data sharing and integration with health records occurs through a hub such as the RxCheck. The standards for data sharing among states follow the Prescription Monitoring Information Exchange (PMIX) National Architecture
